What happens after the Appeal Tribunal hears a case?

On hearing an appeal, the Appeal Tribunal may –

  • dismiss the appeal and confirm the decision of the Authority;
  • allow the appeal and set aside the decision of the Authority;
  • vary the decision of the Authority; or
  • allow the appeal and direct the Authority to arrive at a fresh decision on the matter,
  • and shall give a written copy of its decision, including the reasons therefore, to the appellant, the Authority and the Inspectorate.
